Typical Berlin: the hostel backyard – an oasis of green
People who know Berlin are also familiar with the typical Berlin backyards, which form part of the period architecture of residential blocks. In the past, often grey and very functional, today they are often an oasis of green in the middle of a busy city, lovingly designed and maintained, inviting passers-by to pause and reflect. This is also the case for our backyard in the middle of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.
In particular in summer time, our guests from all over the world use this space to come together in a relaxed atmosphere to talk, barbecue and enjoy concerts on the hostel’s own stage.
A warm welcome to Pegasus Hostel Berlin
My name is Simone Schüler. I have been the General Manager of Pegasus Hostel since we first opened in 2001, at which time we were one of the first hostels in Berlin. We began with just a handful of employees but with a lot of enthusiasm and built it into what it is today, always with the objective providing comfortable and reasonably priced accommodation to our guests. Having served more than 5.000 groups over the last 15 years, I am confident we are on the right track.
Today I am supported by an experienced and professional team in customer services, accounting and IT. We have strong links to the local community enabling young people to start and complete apprenticeships with us, something I am particularly proud of. Similarly I am proud of our returning regular guests, who we value highly. I look forward to welcoming you as one of them.
Have lots of fun in Berlin! Simone Schüler
Berlin tips and more...
Dr. Tetiana Katsbert, Deputy director YEPP International Resource Centre, has booked conference rooms:
"We like to organise our workshops and conferences at the Pegasus Hostel because we like the atmosphere there. The team is friendly, helpful and welcoming to our delegates. We openly discuss our requirements and everybody scrambles to find solutions! In addition Pegasus Hostel’s location is in the heart of East Berlin, not far from the East-Side-Gallery and very close to the impressive Karl-Marx-Allee is ideal."
Helga Unseld, Aventuro – charity for family exchange has used our seminar room including catering:
What really stood out for us about Pegasus was friendly and uncomplicated communication before, during and after our meeting. The team were open to any additional requests we had and there was always a point person available during our meeting. In general the staff were very friendly.
In summary - great support, perfect organisation, fantastic food, clean rooms, lovely courtyard - we felt very comfortable and will definitely be back!
